Day 8.2: This weekend I went home for about 18 hours for my nephew’s birthday party. This post isn’t about those photos, they will come soon though. This post is in honor of Koehn’s Bakery, the Mennonite owned and operated bakery in my hometown of Butler, Mo. The Bakery is a Butler staple, the one thing every one misses when he/she goes off to college is being able to stop by and buy a fresh baked cinnamon swirl or chocolate longjohn or sausage roll before going to school. No feeling is worse than the one you get when you go home over a break and get all excited about going to the Bakery for breakfast, only to realize it’s Monday and therefore closed. I don’t go home very often anymore, but every time I do I have to go to the Bakery.
